Role: Sr Principal Software Engineer - Cloud Excellence

Location: Dallas, TX

About this role : We are looking for an experienced Senior Principal Engineer to act as Cloud Excellence Architect leading the design and development of the continuous integration and delivery (CICD) automation and operational readiness of our Cloud Native Solutions. The Cloud Excellence Architect will be responsible for defining and implementing our cloud native solution CICD automation and driving operational excellence that meets our customers' needs while aligning with our overall business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical architecture design and development of the CICD automation for the cloud native platform and services of Blue Yonder's portfolio, including full lifecycle deployment automation of infrastructure and services supporting rolling update, zero-downtime, synthetic health checks, automated rollback on failure and other resilient deployment requirements.
  • Act as an evangelist for resilient cloud native architecture on our Blue Yonder platform and bring proven expertise in collaborating with Product teams to promote Cloud Excellence in requirements, design, development and deliver of cloud services and ensure proper governance through on-going Operational Readiness Reviews.
  • Define and implement a scalable and flexible automation architecture that meets the needs of our customers and supports our business growth, including feature flags, zero-downtime, and other best practices.
  • Ensure that cloud automation is secure, reliable, and meets all industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, best practices, and industry trends to continuously improve the cloud automation architecture and maintain our competitive edge.
  • Fully automate operational excellence tooling and governance including cloud deployment and metric dashboards, automated release gates and feature-flag and configuration management to enable teams to grow maturity over time
  • Review and leverage new technologies needed to ensure the Cloud Automation is differentiated in the marketplace with capabilities including but not limited to: cloud agnostic deployment technology, blue-green/canary deployment, feature flags, test automation, monitoring, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, event management, security/authentication, and reporting
  • Foster a customer-first culture in which you deliver what you commit to with unsurpassed reliability, performance and scale
  • Provide guidance, feedback, coaching, and developmental experiences to the team

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is required
  • Proven experience building and scaling Cloud Automation solutionswith at least 15 years of experience in software architecture design and development, with a focus on SaaS platforms and cloud-based systems.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Automation Technology Leader or other relevant positions for leading Enterprise, Cloud/SaaS companies.
  • Strong knowledge of software design patterns, scalability, resilience and security principles
  • Minimum of 7+ years of CI/CD pipelines, tools and infrastructures for applications deployed in the cloud.
  • Firm command of software deployment and observability automation with a strong site reliability engineering (SRE) and DevOps mindset.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with strategic approach
  • Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with SCM/ ERP/ Commerce systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel when required.

The Salary Range for this position is $186,298.00 to $241,702

The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
